Cold Start

I only have about 800 miles on my F150 6.2 liter, but I have noticed the idle is kind of rough for the first minute or so when the engine is cold. It almost seems like it's going to stall, but it hasn't so far. I haven't seen any similar posts with this issue. I'm wondering if the computer is still going through the learning phase, and that maybe it will even out over time. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.

I don't remember experiencing this and don't think it's normal. It's not even that cold in Austin, and we have people on here with no issues starting their truck in sub-zero temperatures.

I haven't heard or experienced that on mine (temps down to single digits). Sounds like a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Thanks for the comments. I did some more research and I think the F150 6.2 liter has a different camshaft than the F 250/350 that produces a rougher idle. I think there's been some issues with the camshaft going bad early on some of these F150 versions. I hope it doesn't happen to mine.

You are absolutely correct...that the F150 does have a diff cam setup than the SuperDuty...along with a diff PCM tune.

Hope it is a minor issue...please keep us posted.
