FORDF250HDXLT 03-21-2012 07:17 PM

what are the plans for this one? what is this, truck #3 now lol?

91dirtydiesel 03-21-2012 07:21 PM

built engine... weight reduction... and lots of speed! going to hit the 1/4mi strip quite frequently!

picked up a borg warner s366 for the build well be starting on it. and using my 7.3l idiT block as the foundation...

'94IDITurbo7.3 03-21-2012 07:24 PM

what kind of differences between your turbo and nmb2's?

91dirtydiesel 03-21-2012 07:28 PM

just a tad bigger. his is s362 so its pretty close. might be getting larger turbine housing for mine tho, if it turns out a bit small. should be perfect

therifleman556 03-21-2012 07:28 PM

$800? I so hate you right now. Why cant we get trucks for sale like that here? Nice find.

NMB2 03-21-2012 07:51 PM

I'm going to build the engine similar to mine, with this bigger charger, and more fuel.

I'm chopping the frame down, and converting it to short box. mono-beam front axle, 9" in the rear. Tubed, caged... ect. Goal is get it down to 3500lb race weight. Will be backed by a full billet ATS standalone E4OD.

'94IDITurbo7.3 03-21-2012 08:14 PM

so this is going to be "race truck"?

yes, I am building a drag IDI, with dirty diesels wallet}>

I'm going to keep it able to drive itself to the track though, not trailered.

Good Lord this sounds like fun. And i'm with rifleman, can't find any in this shape under 2k here in Ohio. Just a question. If you're going to shorten the frame why not just get a 1/2 ton short bed truck and do a little bracing in the front? Jw. Anyway ya do it it'll be a BAMF though. Good luck.

Didn't want to deal with the gas to diesel conversion stuff, as well as trying to register it that way, washington is weird.

Also, when we went to pick this up, the guy told us it was an 86 F350, so we were expecting a D60 front to sell off to recoup purchase cost.
