2008 F250 6.4L powerstroke problem**Help

I have a 2008 with 6.4L PS. 144,000 miles. I have driven since it was new. Never any motor problems, always kept up regular maintenance. I did buy a bullydog E3 programmer. NOT DPF DELETE, just a tow program. I had this installed since approx 75K miles. Back in December there was a notice sent from Ford about a re-flash to the PCM needed. I took it in for the Re-Flash and returned the program to stock. Ever since the Re-flash, my bullydog program is not operable. Bullydog says the new flash wiped out their programming capabilities. No problem, but ever since then I have been losing power randomly at RPM's over 2300. It just acts like it is almost in Limp mode. I can pull over and cut off the engine and restart, and the condition goes away for a short while, then comes back shortly. Seems as if more troublesome when engine is at operating temp. I am getting a P0088 code which says Fuel system pressure too high, but after hooking up on a ford diagnostic computer, the pressures it is reading at idle and under acceleration is within normal limits?? Has anyone experienced what i am describing or have any suggestions?

Sounds like you are probably having an issue with either a sensor or the HPFP itself.

You will have to go thru the diagnostic steps to determine the exact cause.

As I understand it you are running in stock power levels and getting code?

If you can't get the rpms up that high then it also sounds like you are in limp mode to try to protect things.

I had a dealer service manager say the code I have usually means a bad hpfp but the service tech told me they typically don't just work then not work. Only when they go bad it just stops working? Seems like more an electronic problem or computer problem..??

Again, I never had ANY problems until the day after the dealer re flashed my computer with this latest update..?

Mine did the same thing after the reflash, it was a code for the turbo overboost. they set the overboost too low so it would go into limp. I have an edge programmer with dpf delete so my tuner looked after the problem but Ford did recognize it and it should go away after the new flash. At least that's what my dealer told me. Mine would go into limp if I hit 35-40lbs of boost, i would pull over and restart the truck and it would be ok again.
