I need some help.

I have reached my technical limit with cleaning my 292 engine. I have pulled the intake manifold, alt, and water pump (cleaned and painted) I have the shop manual but I am still hesitant to pull the cylinder heads of the engine for fear of not putting it back together correctly. I am looking for someone to show me how to do one. I am not looking for anyone to do it for me. I WANT to learn.

If anyone has a spare day or two I will pay for gas and feed you. I live up in Jefferson County by Fort Drum. I may even be able to get you to sit in a UH-60 BLACKHAWK, AH-64 Apache, and OH-58D Kiowa.

Can you come and get me in Virginia??
Why do you want to take the heads off? Just cleaning or valves or? The rocker arm shafts on those engines had a tendency to sludge up. The soft plugs on the shaft ends can be knocked out for cleaning, might as well do the rocker arms too but, keep them in order.

GLR, There is a significant amount of debris on the exterior of the heads. I figured since I had the manifold already off.......

Gotcha, Scout. I'd probably do the same thing. One thing does lead to another.
