so Its going up only on the passenger side and then gets jammed i cant see down into the tailgate. does anyone have a diagram or the rails? is this a common problem?

Sounds like the regulator to me, my guess is one of the blots on the driver side arm has fallen off.

Possible one of the square plastic slide pieces has broken and allowed the arm to slip out of the track.

Lower the window by holding it straight so it will go down. Open the gate. Trip the latch on the drivers side of the gate. Operate the window in the up position about 1/3 way, holding window.

With the interior panel removed, you should be able to see the slides and fix the issue.

Mine was similar, the little square plastic slider wasn't broken, it just slipped out of the track. It is easy to look at and feel around with your hand to see what the dealio is, in this same access panel you can look inside at the rails that the window slides on in the side of the tailgate but it is kind of difficult. Get some appropriate lube (whatever these more experienced folks recommend) dip your finger in and run it along the track. I too need to get some of this lube and do mine up nice and fancy.
