Need front frame horns for 52 F-1

Someone cut the front frame horns off on my truck and I would like to buy a couple of extensions to where I can hang a bumper on it.

Mine is cut about 6" forward of the rivet on the top of the frame rail to give you an idea of where to cut. I have attached a picture of my cut-off ones.

Anyone got some I can buy?

Hi Bill, Keeping my eyes open for ya.

The picture may be deceiving me but looks like the rail is bent in towards the middle? Also I'm curious what others here might know about the F-2 F3 front frame rails maybe being the same as F-1's for possible donors????

I wish you had posted about a month ago, I just scrapped out a '49 panel.

The front part of a F-2 or 3 might be the same, they have the same front bumper. I don't have my trucks handy to compare.

I guess this is about the only reference I can give you since I don't know how much I am missing. Guess I could always extend your horns if they are too short.

Hi Bill,
Did you find what you needed? I've got an F-1 frame that the back half was damaged and the frame is getting cut up. Let me know if you still need the front frame horns, Or if anyone else may need/want them.

Once the original poster find his set I'd be interested in a set as well. My dad's 52 has suffered the same fate. Someone has cut his horns off to move the bumper in closer.

Thanks
Bobby

The F-1 frames are a bit different than the F-2/3s. The book says the Maximum Side Member Cross Section of an F-1 is 5.92" x 2.25" x .15". The F-2/3 is 6.0" x 2.25" x .19". Like said, since the front bumpers are the same, these figures probably only matter on the wall thickness measurement, and maybe not even then. Stu

Good to know the difference, now I dont need to measure the F-2 frame section. :D Although before I read the above info they sure look the same. here is a picture of the F-2 front end.

I wont be cutting the f-1 frame until earliest next week sometime so Bill let me know how much you need, heck you can have the entire front half if you want? ;) :-X04

I'll have both the F2 and the F-1 Rails available
the F-2 rails are going to get cut tonight or sometime tommorrow how much rail do you guys need? do you need it to go past the front crossmember?

Bobby, think these F-2 rails will work? let me know how much to cut?

Josh
