Should I build my 351m into a 434 stroker or just mildly build my 351m

How much would I run to build the 434 stroker and what all is needed and I don't really wanna do a 460 for the fact that I'm limited on headers and mounts and all that

the stroker kit from tim is 2,300 plus heads, at 1800 bare plus any other parts and machine work id guess closer to 6k but you should be pushing 500hp. dollar for dollar a 460 is cheaper to build. Parts are cheaper and more plentiful to get a hold of.
if you wanted you could mild build your 351, all u have to do is change the 351 crank to a 400 crank and you got a 400. bore .030 headers, cam and 4 barrel, and you got a pretty mean engine.
depends on what your into and how deep your pockets are.

I'm sure Tim could guide you toward a more budget version of the 434 than how we did it with mine. I kinda went overboard and got all the shiny doo-dads on top of the machine work and stroker kit, so it cost considerably more than what one might think of as a "budget build". If you have a machine shop you trust, and you get the right parts from Tim, I'm sure you could keep some of the cost down.

Dollar for dollar, a 460 is waaaaaay better value than the weak-kneed 351M stroker.

I agree with you. Plus I like too be different from all my buddys they have diesels and 460s. I like too see them get pissed when the wussy a** 400 beats them makes my day.

If the man wants to build a 351m into a 434, then that's what he should do. Yes, we get it.....the 460 is bigger, and cheaper to get HP out of after about 450hp (up to that point, they're pretty much the same cost wise). The issue is that he wasn't asking about a 460. He probably already knows that's an option, but like me, wanted to go the path less traveled. Then again, maybe he already knows that John Kaase has been winning the Engine Masters Buildoff with the 335 engine block for a few years now, and wanted to do something with that platform.

I would say, however, that if he wants to keep the cost down, maybe a healthy 400 would be more palatable. Like Jmm said, you could swap the crank and rods, and do a fair 400 build pretty cheap, which would yield over 400hp easily. Again, I'm sure if you ask Tim Meyer, he could give you lots of options to think about.

I just went the 434 route because I didn't want to be a sheep, and do what everyone else does. I've had 460's, and I like them. If power was my only concern, then yes, I'd probably build a beast 460 for a lot cheaper than a healthy 434. The difference is that I wanted to try something a little different......which is maybe the point Rebel was trying to make in the first place.
