Tax Refund Tech Day?
 

I'm working on my taxes.

It's PNW cloudy.

Riff Raff/Clay is just 4 hours south of here.

I know of one great shop in Scio, OR that has all you could desire in any weather-- woodstove, fridge, lifts, couches, animal heads on the walls, and a great owner who talked a while back about having a Tech Day.

My truck needs some sprucing up.

So! If I agitated for an Oregon Tech Day.... do you think that would make my tax refund higher? It think it all makes sense.

Here's to trying. I'm officially starting to bug you PNW types for a Tech Day. Anyone into it?

Also, I see that your location is "Outside the prison walls." Does that mean you can join us, Seabiscuit? Are you a taxpayer with a government that needs to give you some dough back and a truck owner who has a place to put that money? You'd be paying your "debt to society" if you poured all that moolah back into our struggling economy.

I am, for sure, a taxpayer with a government that needs to give me some dough back. Unfortunatly, they don't quite have the same view of it as I do.

I have a strong propensity of supporting the government by donating lots of money to the State and Feds (other than the obvious) via ODFW license fees, State and National Forest / Park Annual Passes, fuel taxes, excise taxes, franchise fees and a few I'm sure I've missed.}>

My "debt to society" is repayed supporting gun shops, bait shops, sporting goods stores and the marina.:-X04

When they have the day in Scio, if I can, I will probably be there just to see how people with much more talent than I have do things.
I can fish, I can hunt, I can shoot, I can ride a motorcycle and a horse but for reasons of public safety (and my own) I don't do much "serious" wrenching on my truck. My wife keeps me busy enough with her car.}>

I suck at wrenching, too. I can, however, fix just about any horse. The truck exists for the horsing. I do pay my debt to society this way: Money just comes to me to be converted to hay and other horse supplies.

I thought that if I sent some money into my truck, it might change things with the State and Feds. Maybe they'd like me better? Maybe I wouldn't mind funding the war in Iraq since I consume more than my share of oil?

I'm definately in! I've been bugging Clay at Riffraff about it for a while now...

I still need to swap my trans/tcase and get my 6.0 trans cooler installed.

Oooh, I'd like to do that. A cool tranny.... mmm.

Also on my list: Replace that K&N POS that came with my truck with something better.

And fix the cotton pickin' seat heater on the driver's side. That's kind of a specialty job. I'm looking into it.

Bumping this thread out of bitterness and self-pity.

It's PNW wet again... after a teaser glimpse of spring last week and daylight savings.

I did the taxes and it turns out that I owe the feds, not the other way around.

We still have no plan for me to spend money that I now don't have on my truck at our Tax Refund Tech Day.

Had we set this up, I'm sure that my tax bill would have been lower. I don't know how that works, but I'm convinced.

So I'm agitating again. Anyone into an Oregon Tech Day?

I'm still in... waiting to hear from Mark about a good time for it.

Better late than never...... right? The 23rd of June we are having a tech day at the farm. Barbeque and general good time. My campground will be open and we can try and have most projects finished early enough to have a fire and socialize beside the river.

I should be able to make it then. Got my trans swap and all that done already, but my shackle angle isn't right, so I need to move the rear brackets forward and weld them in place...

And I could use some traction bars in back, but don't know if I'll have the funds to buy the materials by then.
