I've been driving this thing around empty for a while now so I have some numbers. City only it will average 11, but I found that if you try and drive it to conservative the city mileage will go down. It I get up to speed faster the mileage goes up but it's also more fun to drive so may be all in my head.

I taken it on 2 hwy runs, the first one was 175 each way gaining 1K in altitude. Going 70 on I-8 in AZ with some city on both ends it averaged 12.5 but on the return trip running 65 it jumped to 14. The second trip was 85 miles each way also with 1K gain in altitude but this time I didn't reset the trip computer and this was 2 lane at 65 mph (hwy 95 in AZ) and it did 14 again at 65. I'm happy with it and I'm sure 3.73 would do better empty but I like the pulling power I get from the 4.30 gears.

2011 F-250, average 13 MPH, mostly highway, it is about the same as my prevoius 2006 F-150, no extra $$ for gas in exchange for alot more power.

My 2011 F250 gets around 15 MPG hwy empty and 10.5 MPG towing. My previous 1999 F150 with 5.4 got 15 empty hwy and if I was lucky 9-9.5 MPG towing. I saw the improvement in the towing department. Bigger and heavier truck with the same mileage range. Hence I understand the feeling :D

Its very strange, but it almost does seem that trying to drive very conservatively doesn't really gain very much with this truck. Any vehicle will use more fuel when RPMs are up...but with this truck, it seems like the tradeoff of a short period of high RPMs (quickly accelerating to speed) vs. a longer period of moderate RPMs (gradually accelerating to speed) is very minimal. My truck has now surpassed the 10k mile mark, and I do feel as though the gas mileage has improved overall. Its hard to tell, being as it has been mostly brutally cold here, with lots of idling and generally more fuel consumption in cold weather anyway, but I think once warm weather comes again and I unlock the hubs and remove the studded snows, MPG might be +1 or 2 mpg vs what I saw last summer when the truck was green.

The 6.2 is an option in the F 150 (same motor). The 6.2 in the Raptor is different. The estimated ,mileage in lighter F150 is 12 city, 16 highway and 13 avg.
So in the heavier Super Duty you should not expect any better. I just hope we see some good mods that will improve these numbers.

Actually, the 6.2L in the F-150 is the same as what is in the Raptor. The version used in the Super Duty is detuned from 411 to 385bhp - the goal is to make the version in the Super Duty last longer.

My 2014 4x4 f250w/6.2L is brand new - so low miles - only 1,300! Fresh off the lot it was only getting in the 9.x around town for the first 300 miles of its life. Took it on a 450 mile highway trip. I reset the trip gauge and watched the mpg's go from ~13.2 at start to 14.6 at end of trip. Truck was empty, no cap, tailgate up, good weather, driving 60-75 mph. I was trying to drive it easy to see how good I could get the highway mpg up to. Drove 80 miles local traffic and then returned back on the same 450 mile route.
Starting out on return leg - mpg was 13.6 (didn't reset at start) and finished at 14.0 mpg average for the entire 985 miles.
I was driving easy on the gas, but I could have drastically lowered these numbers if I was pedal to the metal.

I've filled my 2 week old 2014 twice now. First time I averaged 13.6, 70/30 freeway to city. Filled it today and got 13.1, 40/60.

I have just about 6,000 miles on the truck now. Just drove from NJ to the middle of Georgia - empty and used cruise control a major portion of the way - mileage was 16.4 on dash and worked out to actually be 16.0 by my calculations. Once I added a 3200 trailer - mileage dropped to 13.9 - most of this driving - 300 miles was at speeds between 45 and 55 mph. I will be taking this trailer from Florida to NJ shortly and will post up what my actual mileage is on that trip. Again trailer will be empty for this trip, but it is 7' tall, 8.5 feet wide and 20 feet long.

Wow! Double Wow..i didn't know this 6.2L could even come close to those numbers...guess I will see what mine can do..

My 2013 crew cab dually with 4:30's weighs in just under 11,000 lbs, around town I will get between 7.5-9 with winter gas, it might increase in the summer but I doubt it. This truck has never seen anything over 10mpg, even on the highway. Towing my camper I will get right around 7mpg. My '08 v10 carrying the same weight got 1mpg better in all situations.

I see you were running with the cruise control on, I have found that my truck will get better mileage empty or pulling with it engaged where my past V10 would get better mileage when not using it. I think it's because the computer limits the amount it will override the throttle where my past trucks would continue poor on the gas to keep the speed up. If you are pulling and you lock it into a gear you watch the instant MPG and watch it stop adding throttle and let the speed decrease, mine well let the speed decrease about 7 mph before it trips off.

It would be interesting to see what your average would be over a longer run going both directions to equalize the road conditions.

I hope this makes it because my Internet connection down here in Mexico is about half the speed of dialup when it works.

I only have 4100 miles in my 2013 2wd, supercab, 8ft bed, and between city and highway (not towing) i am averaging 14.5.... I kept my foot out of it, and could not get it to go above 13.8. I decided to drive it like I wanted to, fast starts, and 75 on the highway. I too agree, that wit it in the higher rpms for a shorter period of time, it does not use as much gas.

My 2011 doesn't even come close to that. Maybe 15 highway if I am lucky
