Maybe mine was a dud. It was gutless. I don't need a diesel but sure do enjoy it more over the gasser. If they would put an ecoboost V8 that would give it some torque down low that you can feel then I would go back in a second. I loved the power of my ecoboost F150. Do that with a Super Duty and you have a winner.

I have read and heard reports just like yours. Guys leaving the diesel world and trying the 6.2, and not being happy. Well I did the same thing 2 years ago. I can tell you and anyone considering making the move from diesel, don't settle for 3.73 diesel gears. After just a few months with my first 6.2 I started to question my decision. I know I am beating the dead horse here, but having the 4.30's really makes for a much better experience. This time I ordered my 2nd 6.2 with IMO, the proper gasser gearing, and it makes all the difference in truck.

Just 2 weeks ago I swapped out my 35/12.50/20 for 295/70/18 Michelin Defender LTX. It has made a noticeable difference in ride quality and mpg. I have picked up at least 1 mpg in my around town driving but have not made a significant road trip yet. My town driving with now very little rural is up to 12+ mpg hand calc'd.

I only have 1300 miles so it's a very small sample size in my 2017 f250, but I filled for the fourth time today and my milage has improved every tank. This last fill up was over 12.3, mostly in town. It's worth noting my Lie-o-meter is usually within a tenth of a gallon in accuracy

A man can dream. I can't justify the price for a diesel. I want to eventually purchase a fifth wheel and will only use it a couple times a year... that's the only reason I'm in the market for the 250s.

Does anybody have any updates on how the 6.2 L have been holding up in the F250 & 350s?

The 6.2 sub section of this forum is annecdotal evidence that the 6.2 boss V8 is one of the most reliable motors Ford has ever produced. Go look at the 6.7 sub section, not even close in terms of reliability.

Just got back from a 430 mile trip to Eastern Oregon and back, truck rode great, I put on the salastic shalckes awhile back and just put on the rancho 9000 shocks, aired the tires down to 65 and it rode pretty darn well, but I got 13.4 mpg going and 14.9 coming, those are two of the best tanks this truck has ever seen, owned it for 9k miles now, I drove at or just below 60 mph the whole time, and I had a few adults and baby with half a beds worth of luggage.. I'm pretty darn happy, almost never got above 3k rpm and if it was just me in the truck and not caring about mpg.. we could have made some serious time up the hills, no lack of power what so ever.

I was very happy with the performance of my 6.2L in my Platinum F250. The engine did like to run at higher RPMs than I expected. Compared to a F150 an F250 feels like a dud but the F250 gasser is still faster than a lot of other vehicles. I would not hesitate to buy another.

My 6.2 runs great I get 14.5 going to the city in the morning in light traffic 13.5 around town but when I tow my scaffold trailer it drops me to 9.5 and it is only 6 or 7 thousand pounds im guessing 14 foot dual axel trailer with 20 6 foot frames and braces boards screw jacks hangers a small setup.

Yep, I'm on my 8th tank of fuel and I hand calc each one. Shockingly accurate, much more accurate than my wife's 535 BMW

I have checked every tank of fuel for mileage since I was in my late 20s and im 50 now this is so accurate I have stopped checking it but still do once a month for old time sake and it is always within a tenth

I have a stock 2wd and Ive never broke into seventeens. My hand calc is usually 15.5-16.5 and lie o meter is about 16.8 never reset

If you dont reset every tank full you wont get a accurate reading
