Golight install on Exped
Well I bought a GoLight for my patrol truck (09 Eped) with some old gift cards from West Marine. The light arrived monday and I installed it last night when I came on duty.
It took me about 2hrs...it would have gone faster but I had to fab my own mount. I did not want to hard-mount it right away before I knew where I wanted it. I made a quick, easy, cheap mount that bolts between the two cargo bows. Its really solid. I even used the roof hole where I ran my lightbar wires...so no more drilling holes in the roof. I used it A LOT last night and really like it. I found that my light tracks much faster than the vids I see on youtube. Maybe they have a different model. I attached a few pics becase as we all know...pics or it didnt happen. (I have since taken care of the wire thats going all crazy on the roof) http://i42.tinypic.com/jkefci.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/14udpxc.jpg |
it looks good! Why did you prefer the go light over a spot light? I feel its easier to aim the spot light

Thanks! Well I wanted a spotlight and we were supposed to get them "next month"....then "next month"...and now I have been here 2 yrs with no spotlight. So I decided to cash in my gift cards from west marine and take care of the situation. Also this has no extra holes drilled in the truck (since I used my lightbar wire hole) I would prefer a "normal" spotlight but this was cheap w/the gift cards and so far I have no complaints. |
Darn cover must be hard to remove while driving... :)

-- Chuck I usually work evenings/nights....I keep it on during the day to prevent "sun fade" of the lens plastic. When I come on duty, I pull it off and keep it off all night until the end of my shift. |
I've had the same problem with this light mounted on the pulpit rail of boats. Always covered with I need it and the sea is sloppy! :)
