Door panel fasteners

Just giving back. I did a search, could not find this info. Most of the fasteners on my 1980 door panels are gone, or broke. I found them at Autozone, Dorman 963-010. 15 in a pack. Fit perfectly. They look different than the originals. There were some in the rack that looked the same, but they didn't fit right. By the way, I also searched Oreilly's and Pep Boys but no luck today.

Push Pins: (AKA: Panel Fastener, Door Panel Push Pin etc...)

Ford Part Number: N802900 Obsolete through Ford but being made aftermarket.

Ford Part Number: N801925-S According to Parts guy Ed, he say's it's 35 cents each. Can replace original Part Number: N802900

Put either part number in a search engine, and 1000+ of them are avaliable from all over the place...

That's good to know. Thanks for the info and for giving back.

I bought a set of Dorman push-pins for my door panels too. They're not as good as Motorcraft, but they work. Kind of generic. I did notice the little splines on the pins weren't as long as on the original Ford pins, but they do hold good enough. They break really easy too, so be careful when you put 'em in.

They're usually at the help section in the autoparts stores. Make sure you buy the Ford specific ones too, there's ones for GM, etc.

Push Pins

That made me laugh. I remember all too well walking around in an office supply store when I lived in the UK. I was looking for thumb tacks and couldn't find them. Even when an employee came to help she couldn't as she didn't know what a thumb tack was. Turns out they are "push pins".

So, now I have a mental image of my door panels being held on with thumb tacks. Kinda ghetto looking, but might add some bling if you use the chrome ones. :)

Ford Part Number: N802900-S Obsolete

Ford Part Number: N801925-S According to Parts guy Ed he say's it's 35 cents each. Can replace  original Part Number: N802900-S.

But, what Ed doesn't say: N801925-S is no longer available!

Your info is bassackwards. N802900-S replaced N801925-S ..not t'other way around.

There is no PDC status for N801925-S ~ According to the FoMoCo Dealer Parts Locator System...it was replaced by N802900-S

There are 1,971 N802900-S available at 21 of the 24 PDC's, which means the little charmer is available from Ford.

MSRP each: $0.95 / FTE sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price each: $0.58 / Ed has 20 in stock.

PDC = FoMoCo Parts Depot Center = regional parts warehouses that supply dealers in their area.

btw: When you omit the part number's suffix .. you'll get the message: No Parts Found when you type the number into websites.

My book omitted the suffex on the first number. So I searched again with N802900-S and walla, found the blasted things at Horizon. :( I did assume it was obsolete because I couldn't find it the first time, so that was bad on my part.

Several years ago, I needed the door panel fasteners. I checked with someone I know at a body shop and was told to check with a local supplier to the "automotive detail" trade.

On the wall, they had literally dozens of boxes of all types. I found the correct ones. They looked very similar to the original ones except they were black rather than white. There were 25 to a box and the cost was a little over $5.

Can someone tell me if N802900-S is the same part for 1983. I see it listed for 1948-1981. I need to pick some door clips on the way home from work. I had no door clips when i pulled my door panels off so I cannot confirm visually.

The 80 - 89 master parts catalog shows that # to be good from 80 - 86.
