Dodge Truck Towing Mirrors
There was a thread on here a while back where someone installed these Dodge Towing Mirrors on their Ford:

Here's a truck with the Dodge mirrors. It doesn't look half bad, but I don't think I would do it.. They aren't as functional on our trucks as they are on the Dodges. Found all these pics in this thread. http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=10402

Again, doesn't look too bad, but you completely lose the wing window with these. http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...600x600Q85.jpg |
I really like how they look on that red truck! Looks like he made the hood scoop too. Cut the hood and welded pieces in the sides... I was thinking Bout doing that.
|
Ooo I've been thinking of this and I'm def Gunna do it now!!!
|
Those 08 mirrors are massive!
|
I'm sorry, but black plastic mirrors on these nicely chromed up older trucks, looks horrible!
And I would NEVER trade my vent windows for ugly mirrors like that! Especially since my vent windows are my only A/C.... I love these, but for some reason, alot of people hate 'em? http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/t...John/003-5.jpg Either those, or the top of the line, these! http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/t...tBedcamper.jpg |

The dodge mirrors look really good on the OBS trucks, it is a shame that they dont function so will when folded down.
Maybe thats why all the dodge guys leave them up:D |
i just couldnt trade my vent windows for mirrors. granted, plastic mirrors wouldnt last more than an hour on my truck. . .
the last real trucks were made with vent windows. . .it'd be a shame to delete them. |
I think the Dodge mirrors fit and look the best. Superduty ones need to be left on the Superduty.
|
There is NO NEED to loose the wing window with the Dodge mirrors. They function as they normally do

they might open, but they dont function as they normally do. |
The reason I don't like the tripod mirrors is because they get in the way of lettering or decals on the doors. They also break loose when worn or rusty and you have to figure out how to get them back in place, or replace your door.
http://i57.tinypic.com/35na5xh.jpg This towing company had to split up their company name due to the mounts. And the mounts are just coated with JB Weld. I drove this truck for tens of thousands of miles and the second loudest thing on it after the exhaust was the danged front doors rattling, creaking, and popping due to these mirror mounts. Side note, it's a 1992 IDI, 304K, been through two transmissions, two clutches, a rear axle, and now they have the engine torn apart. The other drivers weren't as nice to it as I was. I would install Dodge mirrors on this if I could get plates welded on. I would just be careful not to open the vent window so far that it got stuck on the plastic Dodge mirror housing. I would NOT want the Super Duty mirrors. Even with working A/C I want those vent windows for my cancer roulette sticks. |
Holy DEAD THREAD and nothing relevant was added to boot
