harmonic balancer with out timeing marks

i got a new harmonic balance for my 59 f100 and it has no timing marks on it it just has two lines on the pully it self about were the timeing marks are on my old one. would any one know what the two marks are on that pully? im guessing they have to do with timing but i dont know if one is top dead center or what?

Bring #1 cylinder to TDC on compression stroke to see if one lines up. You can buy timing tape at the parts store to mark it for reference.

Can't you compare where the new marks are in relationship the the keyway as opposed to the original?

ya i can but i was just wondering if any one had run across this same problem and new for sure what those marks on the pulley were for.

Not sure which motor's in your truck, but saw this on the Bay:

Ford Y Block NOS Fairlane 2 blt Damper Balancer 292 312 & FORD Pickup & Trucks | eBay

Difficult to find NOS,and it beats sending yours out for refurbishing, leaving you without your truck meanwhile. Also, buying a used one is not the best idea,as they are often bad.
