junkyard price for stock alloy rims?
thinking of getting a old set of stock alloy rims to run in winter, kinda wanting the gen1/2 set with the 10 holes. any ideas what a junkyard would sell a set of 4 for ? my jeep winter rims need tires and im kinda tired of the look of that set of rims, but dont want to run my stock deer-paw alloys year round, they still look darn good for their age, possibly because ive never ran them in the salt.

I paid $25.00 each for a set of aluminum wheels for my 98 Ranger. They came off a 95. The bolt hole pattern was the same but the center hole wasn't quite big enough for the front wheel bearing hubs. It was nothing that a big hole saw didn't fix. They fit the rear just fine so I am assuming that it was due to having replaced the rotors with an aftermarket set. Apparently they were a little bigger than the originals.

Rims
Racsan,
I did some looking a while back for alloy rims on Craigslist. I recommend that you do a search there using 'Ranger' as a key word under the Auto Parts section. You should find better deals than ones at a junkyard (or at least from what I found out in the Northeast). I think Dan's number is pretty good: about $100 for a set of rims in average condition. The better the set, the more you pay, and if they have tires with any tread, you might pay $250-300. Kevin |
Around these here parts they run $50 each at the yards. I'd love a set of 16" for the Splash. (my mother in law won't let me have them off her Explorer)
