1988 F 350 Fuel Pump Ideas?
 

Hey i just picked up a 1988 F 350 daully 4x4 with the 460/5speed. It has been sitting for several years and all of the electric fuel pumps are dead! I was wondering if anyone has installed an after market high pressure pump? As for the lift pump i will only be using the rear which is a plastic tank and i plan on buying a whole new pump and gauge assembly so the fuel gauge will work. Thanks, Chad.

I would make sure that there is power at the pumps before replacing. There are known issues with the fuel pump relays and thier connectors.

I am for sure getting power to the tank pump, i checked with a test light. I am not so sure about HP pump, i plan to check this weekend. I found a used HP at local junkyard for 35$ with a 90 gaurantee so i will most likely be getting it. AS for tank i plan to just go ahead a buy a whole new unit, its a little costly but i would like to have a fuel gauge with the 460! Thanks!

If you have power to tank pump it's probably just a bad hp pump.
