How to hook up an Ipod

How can i hook up an Ipod to my stereo? Radio has an Aux button but no Auxiliary Audio cable jack. Push the button and it says NO AUX AUDIO. How can i hook my Ipod up to it?

The jack is on the back of the radio.

It depends what year your radio is. Most require an adapter kit to be able to connect to the aux jack. This is where I bought mine for my '02 E350:
Anco Auto Specialties

How do you get back there. Is there room behind the dash, or pull the radio?

Pull the radio. It's not hard.

There are lots of wireless Ipod FM Transmitters online. With these all you do is set to a required Fm Station so it matches your transmiter and you get sound through the radio. I use one and like it alot.

Here is a link on ebay that my help. ipod wireless radio | eBay

Super easy to remove the dash and radio in that truck. I did it on my '05 also. Here is a link to a write-up in the Super Duty Tech Folder on how to get into the dash and install a P.I.E. adapter.

so is there gonna be a jack on the back of the radio or do i need an adapter?

powerstroke72 12-31-2011 11:50 AM

I can't recall if there was one on mine or not. I was hooking up my Sirius radio and since it already had an FM modulator on it, I just spliced into the antenna wire and hooked it up that way.

Mark Kovalsky 12-31-2011 01:51 PM

There is no jack. You have to use an adapter.

installed a P.I.E. in my truck and i am not impressed with it, only puts out about 50-60 percent the sound level that the radio does, volume level that is good listening level on the P.I.E. blows your ear drums out on radio and what is good listening level on the radio is barely a whisper on the P.I.E. anyone else run into this? volume in the P.I.E. is all the way up, volume on the IPOD is all the way up too.
