Water pump: severe duty vs std duty on a '92 4.9L F150 - Which one?

My water pump has started leaking out of the weep hole, so time for a reman water pump. On the NAPA site, they list two reman water pumps for my '92 4.9L/E4OD/2WD/2-row radiator/AC/PS/ F150:

Standard duty reman pump :WP58340 $30.49
Optional severe duty reman pump: WP58340H $56.00

I'm sure the optional sever duty pump would be the best choice but the original pump has done fine all these years. I'm just wanting to replace the current water pump with the same duty pump. How do I tell if I have the standard duty or the severe duty water pump. Would Ford have automatically used the severe duty pump on a '92 equipped as mine? Thanks.

I would think, judging by the title, that the "severe duty" pump is intended for racing engines. I'm not saying with any certainty that you can't use it, but it's probably overkill if you're driving a stock motor and aren't doing anything high performance.

It may be a case of better quality. Carquest lists Red or Blue parts. Blue usually has better warranty and higher costs.

They are both remanufactured water pumps that you listed. Not my favorite way to go. The standard duty pump will work just fine, but look into a new one.....

Actually the NEW NAPA part number: TFW 44007 is cheaper than the WP 58340H but is a little more than the WP 58340..

I always use new if it is available...
