2011 4WD Expedition EL XLT or XLT Premium

I will probably purchase one in the next week. I am having trouble deciding between the 2. At the moment i am leaning towards buying the XLT and adding aftermarket leather.

Anybody buy the XLT and wish they got the XLT Premium (Eddie Bauer)?

The XLT Premium would add backup camera, factory leather, 20" wheels, power fold third row, 2nd row bucket seats, etc.

The price difference between the 2 is about $6,000.

I tow a boat so the Backup Camera is a godsend (for $6K not worth it). I purchased a loaded Limited so I guess I'm not one to give you a valid comparison between the two, however, I would go the XLT Premium. I have never looked into it but I would suspect with all three rows etc... The aftermarket leather would end up costing more than the upgrade or it won't look as good.

My one concern I have with mine is the cost of replacement of the tires for the 20in wheels, going to be pricey. Also if you run off-road much the 20in wheels are not a great option IMO. I would prefer more tire.

It's your money, your decision.

I got a '07 XLT deliberately because if lacked much of the fluff that's stuck on the higher trim, but no more capable models.

For example mine deliberately lacks the rear air suspension as it complicates towing and is generally unneeded, and the third seat folds manually. It's been down for probably two years anyway so I've no clue what a power folding third seat would offer me. Now if there was a power unloading-and-storing-in-the-garage option for all the "stuff" I have back there on top of the folded 3d row seat I'd consider it! ;)

Same thing for the thin leather trimmed seats. My family hates them. I tow a camper (HD Tow option) but can manage hookup with a few passes. I want lots of tire, not pimp "rims."

2d row bucket seats are as simple as removing the center section of seat, putting down a carpet runner, and fitting the arm rests. Email me for a photo, my photo site is down.
