Thanks! Correct, Still have the Power steering assist. Got a new Cylinder and Control valve a few months back and a power steering pump, The PO had it manual steering.

It's a nice system, when maintained and working correctly, it gets bashed, unfairly i think, guys are judging a setup that's most often been neglected and abused for four decades and calling it junk, i love my power assist. ;)

No sir, Bought the truck that way, assuming original ford bed rails.. not sure.

montana_highboy 11-06-2011 10:19 PM

Kilich, is that a factory bull/push bar up front?

kilich 11-06-2011 11:03 PM

No. Bought it with the truck though. Its from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard. They sell for 250 new i believe. May be wrong.

Nice truck and I agree, those bedrails look factory to me, just like the ones a buddy had on his '79 he bought new.

Yea. 3 inch body and a 4 inch suspension

i like the body lift idea were i already have one sitting on a shelf from a parts truck and im needing 1/4" to get the cab to line up with the bed just the matter of milling 1/4" off the rear mounts. my main issue with most body lifts is that the cab and frame get so far apart you can see a huge gap but it does not look like that is a issue on the high boys. do you have a straight on side pic i could see how the frame looks under the body?

kilich 11-07-2011 08:24 AM

Yea. Ill get some more pictures up after i get home from school around 3pm EST.

That sure is a nice looking truck you have there. I have those same wheels on my truck. What do you use to clean them? I use HVAC coil cleaner, and rinse very, very thoroughly. I love the look of those old highboys.
