New F150

Not a new user, just had to change my forum profile name from "86 F-250 Diesel 4X4" since I now have the new 2011 F150 SCREW EB 5.5 XLT Lariat. I had the 86' F250 for over 20 yrs, what a great truck. But it was time to get something we could travel in and tow as needed.

I posted last week about getting the new F150 under my old profile so I won't go into the details. But so far, extemely pleased.

I was anxious to see how the mpg's compared, I have a 25 mi commute to work one-way and after resetting the fuel economy to 0.0 and cruising home I was able to avg 22+mpg on the route. This was taking it easy, driving 60mph on the highway portion and easing into town which I thought was good. Since then I've averaged about 18-18.5 mpg city/highway.

I had a Line-X bedliner sprayed in on Friday and by the end of the day should have my new Peragon truck bed cover installed (ook advantage of the FTE and reitred military discount).

Very nice!!!!! Coming from a diesel it must feel and sound like your driving an electric powered truck. Hope you have great luck with it!! Kevin

Huge difference all the way around. Ride, comfort, technology, acceleration, and yes much quieter. I can actually hear the radio when I'm heading down the road. Also, I think my neighbors are happier since I'm not breaking the silence in the early morning with the old 6.9L.

Here's what I was driving, great truck, hated to see it go but had to do something.

Mike -

Sharp new truck - congratulations! And with a new Peragon cover installed, it's the perfect package! :) I trust the install went well, if you need anything please let me know. Pictures and a quick review would be great!
