Drive The Ky. Speedway

If anyone is interested this Saturday is drive the track day at Ky. Speedway. There are a few FTE guys around the area now so I thought I would let you know. Buy 40 dollars in the gift shop and get three laps on the track, of course you have a pace car(about 80-85) and believe me that is fast for our old trucks and Homade handles really well but it is still scary. Truxx1956 is coming up this weekend and I want to take him out if all goes well. If anyone goes lets get together, Garry.

I'm certainly interested, it sounds like a blast! Maybe if I leave now... ;-)

Sounds like fun. Someday I will get over to the KY Speedway with my truck.

Truxx1956 11-12-2011 08:23 PM

Here's the last one. We got to run about 90MPH around the track. Garry didn't trust my driving so he put the seat belt on.}> If we'd been in my truck we wouldn't have had seatbelts. We dont need no stinkin seatbelts:-jammin

Woohooo!!! Looks like a blast. I'm just glad you guys didn't end up making that set of skid marks ending at the wall in that second picture.

Truxx1956 11-12-2011 08:40 PM

No skidmarks into the wall but Garry might have some in his drawers? His eyes were pretty big when I was driving. I was doing my "Tim Taylor" grunt while driving }> :-X03:-X04:-X22

homade 11-13-2011 08:45 AM

Doc, you are not near as glad as me, but Truxx cried like a little baby so I had to let him drive to shut him up, what a baby he is if he don't get his way but we did have a great day, Garry

THATS SOOOO COOL

Was that red truck there to set the pace ? I would have had to pass his a$$ !!!! What they going too do ? Take your b-day away. Man dude that truck sure looks good rounding that track. U DA MAN

homade 11-14-2011 02:29 PM

Fred, ya, it's a pace truck and I don't want to pi$$ them off cause I only live 3 miles from the track and usually anything they have going on I get free cause I have 2 neighbors that work there and they take good care of me on things like that. I'll be a good little boy besides I don't think I'd want to run much over 90/95 in HOMADE, ever look close at the black marks, I'd say a crash in HOMADE would really ruin my day.

Doc 11-14-2011 02:43 PM

Hey Dale! Didn't I see you at Talladega a long time ago?

Sorry man. My mind is just twisted today, and God only knows why I remembered that. I couldn't resist.:-missingt:-missingt:-missingt

When I lived in Bristol, they would leave the gate open to the track pretty much every day during the "off-season" because there was a little snack bar type place in the infield for the employees/community. We were SUPPOSED to just drive across turn 3 into the infield. One day I couldn't resist. I was in my F-150. Wheeee!! I didn't go very fast, but it was a blast! Then I got the hell out of there. :-innocent

Hey Doc, I was thinking and I seem to remember something about the Doc said something about having a country cook-out at his place before winter. The only reason I thought of this was, DO I PUT HOMADE TO BED FOR THE WINTER OUR IS A ROAD TRIP COMING UP,like I say I was just thinking and wondering how many would attend, Ha Ha

Doc 11-15-2011 02:05 PM

Yeah I did mention that once. It's November now and kind of cold out. But hey I'll try anything once. But in all seriousness, we ought to get a show of hands here with guys close by (or far away if they're willing to travel) and maybe shoot for the spring if nothing else. I've got a couple of ponds the kids could fish, etc. Plenty of room for them to play and roam. I've got a shop now (nothing like yours Garry) where you all could tinker with your trucks. I've seriously thought about getting a show of FTE hands of people who would be local enough to realistically show up for a get-together. Maybe even like a laid-back country version of the Pigeon Forge type stuff. (but we don't have a Krispy Kream down the street--hell I barely have a street, LOL). I have plenty of room. On top of that, do any of you own campers?

homade 11-15-2011 05:18 PM

Got any motels close, I know you GOT MILK but what about the serious stuff, cold ones, buns (we know you have hambugers walking around), metal leaf rakes to fix hot dogs, you know, all of the imporant stuff, didn't mean to get something started(tee hee) but I'll be there at the drop of a hat.

Doc 11-15-2011 09:08 PM

Two small motels in town. I'm way off the beaten path, Garry. It may just be me and you sitting there with that rake. I'm not gonna hold my breath just yet. Then again, it could be the Woodstock of FTE. :D

homade 11-15-2011 09:15 PM

I'm digging it man.

arrowheadfred 11-15-2011 09:31 PM
