Vehicle Registration, taxes?
 

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had a good link so I can get an idea of what I may have to pay for state taxes and registration fees for my truck if I decide for sure to move to Nebraska. Also, what do you guys have as far as vehicle inspections? Thanks a million for the help.

Shaun, the only inspection you'll need is a VIN verification. Nebraska does not have safety or smog inspections. Before you can register a vehicle from out of state, they have to verify the VIN is the same as the title.

Here is a link to the state DMV , and the Douglas county Treasurer. Not sure where you're planning to move to, this is mainly for Omaha, so it may be cheaper where you would go, but this should give you an idea. Yes, it's expensive here!

If you don't mind, could you possibly throw out the amount you have to pay rounded to the nearest tenth? Since I live in Florida, everything is costly, so what you deem as expensive may be cheaper than what I'm paying now.

Looking at y'alls DMV site, we have at least 12 million more registered vehicles here than you guys have! I'm gonna absolutely love Nebraska!

As far as where we're moving, it's gonna either be around Lincoln or Omaha, but we're gonna try and stay a little ways away from the Missouri River.

Well, they base it on your vehicles worth, so that would be tough for me to compare, don't know what your's might be worth. I know the 06 was about 425 this year, but that's being 5 years old, and I have to pay an extra 75 a year for the Husker plates.
