Going from Supercharged Raptor to 12 F350 4x4 CC 6.7 Diesel Dually
 

Hello Guys,

I am a new member who has been driving Ford truck for a very long time!! I love them. Currently I have a 2010 fully loaded orange Raptor with the Edelbrock Supercharger pumping out 410 RWHP with 20" monster wheels and 35" Mud tires. The truck is insane and I love it but it cant do the WORK that I need to do so tomorrow I am ordering a new F350 Diesel CC Dually 4x4 tomorrow and would like the dealer to install the plow so I am looking for advice on which plow to get. Any help would be appreciated.

Dont plow, but have, and know A LOT of guys who do. First is this for personal use or business? Especially if it is business most recommend using whatever manufacturer in your area has the best dealer support, for breakdowns and parts.

Second what are you plowing? Driveways, parking lot, etc... V-Plows are good for breaking through stuff such as what the city plows leave after plowing roads. Also can go into a scoop mode. They make expandable straight blade plows that can go from 8 to 10 or even 11 feet wide, plus scoop mode. The obviously the cheapest route is a straight blade.

Manufacturer selection is like debating Ford, Chevy, and Dodge products, each owner will defend theirs to the death. Around here we have

Boss - probably #1
Western
Blizzard
Snow Way
Snow Dogg
Meyer

A lot of my friends who have Boss simply can't say enough good things. But those that own the others may feel the same way. But we do have a very large Boss supplier. I also think Western, Blizzard, and some others are made by the SAME manufacturer. If I were buying I'd follow this

1.) What am I plowing (for plow selection)
2.) What dealer is closest to me that offers the type of plow I need and support
3.) How much money am I going to spend (V and expandable cost more)

I know for me I'd be looking at V-Plows, seems the most versatile.

i know lots and lots of guys do it but I think when getting the diesel and the crew cab you no longer can get the plow package as it over loads the front axel. No big deal but not likely to get any warranty work on related parts.

You sure can get it. Mine has it and it's optional on the CC DRW 4X4 Diesel also.

I am going to be mostly plowing my private gravel road and driveway which is about 1/4 mile and kinda steep in sections and maybe some other work but not too much. The plow package is available still as per my dealer. I will find out from him tomorrow which brand/supplier they use and go from there. Getting what I consider a great deal....... under invoice. Get the plow package and locking rear axle (very important). For that driveway I would strongly suggest a V plow, 9'2'' or larger. Boss, Fisher, Western and Snoway are all good units. A reputable dealer in close proximity is more important than the brand you buy.
