ID mystery part under hood
 
1. I wanted to start a new post but every time I use this site I can't seem to find button / link too do so. If you click on "New Posts" you can read others posts. But you can't post a question. Anyway I figured it out before but tonight I'm spent mentally.
2. I have a part under hood of my 1987 F-150 4.9 Liter that I can't ID. Its in far corner of engine compartment drivers side. (see picture) I also need to know what part does. I could hear vac leak. Found hose running to this part had hole. Taped up hole and now vehicle idles up and down. http://www.ltdmasta.com/Im003554.jpg

To start a new thread:

1) Go to the front page of this forum: Ford Inline Six, 200, 250, 4.9L / 300 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
2) Click the http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr.../newthread.gif button in the top- or bottom-left.
