Cost of your 6.2
Guys, I'm looking into purchasing a 2011/2012 6.2 4x4 crew cab XLT. I was wondering what your cost was for this truck?

It's going to be dependent on the options the vehicle has as well (I had over $8k in options on mine).
You can expect to get about $5-10k MSRP, depending on what incentives/rebates are valid. I used an X plan pin (courtesy of EAA) and got $3500 off from incentives/rebates on top that so I feel I got a pretty good deal. If it's an '11 and they want it off the lot for the '12's, you may be able to work a really good deal on it. |
double post...
FTE servers actin' goofy today... |
how does one get to be part of the Xplan?

Hmm, I work for the federal govt which purchases a bunch of ford vehicles their fleet. I wonder if that would work? |
Join the EAA. For $40 (year membership), you get access to 2 x plan pin numbers...
I actually enjoy the magazines and emails they send out so I bought another year even though my initial intent was just for the pin number. |
There is a dealer that has quouted 37,999 for a 2012 250 CC 4x4 XLT. This is with 3500.00 in incentives. This seems to be just above the invoice price but best price in the state of NM. Do you think an XPlan would give better pricing?

Honestly, it's my opinion that whatever you're comfortable paying for a truck and as long as you're satisfied with it, then go for it.
Can you do better than X plan by haggling? Sure. For me, I don't have the patience or time to deal with it, so X plan was going to give me the cheapest route without haggling. |
For 2011 crew cab, look to spend 7k off of sticker. I was pursuing that but I couldnt find one nearby (closest was 400 miles away). I was looking at a 47k xlt crew gas for about 40k.
Diesel right now it just over 10k off. Since I can't find what I want, I'm going to order a 2012 with xplan (8% off sticker) minus the current rebate when it comes in (current rebate is 1000 on 2012) |

X-plan is def the the way to go.
I heard that if you contact FORD customer service...and a returning customer (must provide a VIN) -- OR -- own FORD stock, then they will send you a X-plan pin. But it does have an expiration date tag. I've never gone this route, but...:-huh biz :-X22 |
A-plan, rebates and trade got me 13k off sticker. I was happy. :)

Thanks for all the info. I would definately rather walk in and get a set price over all the haggling
