A tip for anyone changing the pushrod cover gasket on a 4.9..

Holy crap what a pain getting it to seal! First time I did it, I tried dabbing RTV on the cover every few inches then placing the gasket on it.

FAIL.

Gasket fell off when putting the cover on, didnt even realize it until I realized I was dripping oil down the road and lost a little over 2 quarts today. (Did the gasket last night!)

Probably didn't help that I had tweaked the cover a little getting it back in. Regardless, this stuff worked GREAT. Extremely tacky, purpose made, and cheap. Put a small bead around the inside of the cover, set the gasket down and pressed it smooth. Bam, instant seal.

Highly recommend to make the job 100x easier.

Sucks having to tear something apart, AGAIN, but I'm glad it's all buttoned up.

Still have many things on my to-do list unfortunately.
