Oversized tires on OE 18" rim ?

Anyone run an oversized tire on the factory 18" rims ?

What are you running ?

I was thinking of running a Toyo Open Country M/T in a LT285/75R18 (35x11.5R18).
Toyo specs says it is loaded rated "E", 35.1" tall and the ideal rim width is 8".

Thoughts or concerns on running this tire ?

I am planning on running F350 blocks in the rear and a leveling kit in the front. Do I need to do this first or will the tires clear either way ?

Those tires will clear just fine in OEM configuration.

okay.... I went to 4 wheel parts today to price some tires. The guy said I can't go any larger than the stock tire on my stock 18" rims or the tire will rub. It appears I have alot of room so not sure if the guy was just trying to upsell me on a set new rims or what the deal was....

Anyone else running a 35" tire on the stock 18" rims ??
What tire are you running ??

I've seen a guy running 37s on 20 inch stock rims with just a leveling kit for pete's sake. Lots of guys around here have 35s on stock rims. Any wider then 12.5 on your stock rim will cause your tires to balloon an rub on the inside, 12.5 wide and under in a 35 and you will be fine.

I run 295 Nitto Terra Grappler's on my 18" Chrome Package wheels. To me, they are a perfect fit. They are nowhere near rubbing anywhere and don't stick out past the fender a bit. Plus, they fill out the wheel wells far better and have a higher load capacity.

I just upgraded from 275/65/R18 to Nitto Terra's at 295/70/R18.
I have the factory 18 inch XLT Rims.

Thank you for the info !
Glad I didn't bite on the sales pitch for new rims.
Sounds like I will be buying tires somewhere else.
