2011 EPAS : Lift : Alignment CONCERNS
My H&R front 1.5" Lift coils arrived and before I install I have some questions/concerns.
For installing I have read to protect the EPAS the battery must be disconnected. Does the EPAS have to be unplugged as well? If so any one have a pic of where its to and is there any issues after plugging it back in? EPAS Light? Dealer reset needed? After the install comes the Alignment... Anything special needed to be performed to protect the EPAS? Does the truck need to be left running? EPAS unplugged? Thanks |
I think you may be treading into unknown waters here my friend. My advice: Contact your local Ford service department and ask them. They will likely say not to do it, talk about warranty issues and such but they should be professional enough to answer your questions.

Let us know when you get it all figured out.
I'm wanting to put a 1.5L leveler kit on my 2011 FX4 Supercab 5.0L. But I've not heard much about how this effects EPAS. |
Talk to member Nassty, IIRC he has a 2" LK on his 2011 with bigger tires and it looks sweet.

Would anybody have a 2011 F-150 service book?
I would be interested in what they state for alignment. |
You can sign up for a subscription to the service manual and others on http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...d=&kevin=rules If you're motivated you can pdf and download each section.
The section that covers alignment says nothing about needing to dissable the EPAS during an alignment. You really shouldn't need to worry about it for that sort of work. It's work that applies impacts such as removing tie rod ends or ball joints that may effect it. For your LK install, just disconnect the negative battery cable and install the kit. You'll be fine. |

Thanks for the reply svt, I installed the springs with the battery disconnected no issues. I can not sign up to that site because It's US only and I am in Canada. Going for a wheel alignment in the morning. If you can double check the alignment section in manual it would be appreciated . Thanks 2011 F150 Ecoboost |
