Need Pic of Toyota PS Box and 30 inch column

Hey guys,
I have a 50 F-3 and I have fab'd the mounting bracket for the box. I got a 30 inch "ididit" column and the proper u-joint to connect it with. With my 4.5 inch column drop it looks as if the angle on my steering box mount may be too steep. To make it work, I may have to cut out a small semi-circle from the top end opening where the original column went through.

If I could get a pic of how yours is installed I can get a better idea about whether or not I have the wrong angle for the mount bracket. I got it as close to 45 degrees as I could. If I have to redo it, so be it. Just wanted to be sure before I sliced into the firewall to make a hole that isn't needed.

I just installed the same kit in my 56 and have a 32'' column with a 4.5'' drop and I find the column at leat 2'' too long. ( due to wheel expansion of course ) When I'm done with the seats I will measure and replace accordingly.

Your u-joint angle is good, just modify or make a new floor plate.

I have a 30" column and loosely installed it to get an idea of how it will look and discovered that I need to go with a 32" column and a 2.5" column drop rather than a 4.5 that everyone else seems to be using. I have 1987 Astro Van seats sitting up on 2 inch risers, so maybe that has something to do with it. After I put the column in, the knee clearance was crappy and the shifter would have hit the dash when going into park.

Here are some pictures out of my gallery. I have a 30" Flaming river column. The column drop is very short.
