Ignition Coil Condenser Needed?

I noticed on my '79 F-350 that the wire that leads from the ignition condenser to the coil has broke loose. I have been trying to find this exact same one, but cannot seem to come up with it. This condenser is a small silver cylinder mounted next to the coil, and the only condensers I have been able to find go into the distributor for points. Since the truck is electronic ignition, is this thing really needed? In the research I have done on-line, it looks like this is only used as a noise filter, and if I am not getting any noise through the radio, I could just delete it. Any opinions? Thanks.

You don't really need this part. In this case the condenser is for noise suppression in the radio.

If you're not getting any RPM-dependent noise on your radio, then don't worry about it. Modern radios usually have enough bypass capacitance to reject ignition interference; factory radios are hit or miss.

Just make sure that the wire that went to the condenser isn't hanging loose; this circuit is not fused.

Thanks, I think I will leave it out.
