after market grill

Has anybody come up with an after market grill that replaces the BUTT ugly grill with cheeks that is on the new 2011 & 2012 F 250/350 pickups. The over all boxy look of that grill and the cheek pieces screams of a lack of concentration of some Ford stylist at the head shed.

I agree, I'm looking for one also.

I actually love the front end look, has a "tough" look to it, but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :-X04

Tell us how you really feel, and don't hold back this time.. lol. I think the '11's are a MAJOR improvement over previous years.

Anyways, Carriage Works makes a grille for the 2011/2012's.

T rex also makes a bunch of different grills for our 2011 SD's

there is a thread on here somewhere, I think it may be T-rex as the manufacturer that has some pretty impressive looking grills.
not cheap.. But they sure look worth the cost.

This is the black T-Rex grille on my truck.

There was a lot of cutting to be done. After you take out the chrome bars, all the black behind them has to be cut out. The grille isn't perfectly flush up top either. It sticks out about half a cm at the top bar. Nothing you can notice until you are right up close. The rest of the grill is flush though. The instructions were a little vague too. And you will need rivets to finish the install because you take apart a couple of the factory ones.

Would I do it again..... yeah probably.

Only once have I seen it at an angle I thought looked bad. I was up on a rig floor and the truck was several hundred feet away with the sun shining directly at it. It looked like the grill wasn't there just a big opening. I might also go in there and paint the one aluminum line black, it just looks ugly in there.

The cabinet maker always see his faults and in your case you are probably a craftsman and worry about it too much,….looks good to me. It has that famous GMC on steroids look and a big Ford Blue Oval in the middle of the grill would attract your attention and mask any of your perceived imperfections.

CParnell 09-25-2011 05:51 PM

Yeah I thought about putting the oval back on there. It did come with a piece to adapt it. I think I'm gonna get billet badges to do something custom for the back and leave the front as is. I already have 6.2 badges on the way for the doors.
