DIESEL DUMP TRUCK for sale
Saw this on craigslist, never heard of a ford with a inline 6, is it a typo? |
Wonder if it's an old Isuzu engine like some rare 70's Dodge truck had?
|
they could have swaped a cummins in would help to get a pick
|
If its really an I6 diesel id highly consider buying it, if its a turbo I6 id buy it and put a flat bed on it. I emailed him for more info...
|
I'm going to hazard a guess that it's really a 300 I6 that sounds like a diesel....:D

there is an old dodge sitting in a jy here with an NA crysler diesel, IIRC it's a relabeled nissian. |
7.8L international maybe? I saw one in DFW not long ago. It was a turbo charged and in an F450 chassis. It was an 80's model, too.
Maybe it was a F700 or 800. |
It's probably a 6.9 running on 6 cylinders.
Think this guy knows his A from a hole in the ground? Note no under-hood pics. |

The 7.8L is a FORD motor. Its 478cid, a stroked version of the 6.6L or 401cid, also known as the Brazilizan engine. Same thing I have in my 9600, with the exception of a Bosch injection system in place of the Simms/Minimec system on the tractors. IIRC ratings for the 7.8 were in the 240hp to 270hp. No sleeves in them so cavitation can be an issue with them also.
