So now I can spend the money they made me....

And I can forget the house so that I can completely focus on stuffing a 351W (5.8L) into my Ranger 1/4 ton....

Let this whole thread read like a running statement of: "Well - since you asked, here is what the 'ell I did about that..."

Well, I have a slipping C4 and a tired, pinging 302 clevo in mine and I top them up with oil and water respectively.

....until I can build a 383(ish) with a procharger and a bulletproof C4 :P then the 31's will get FRIED!!!

Have you looked to find if there is a "BAND ADJUSTMENT" that you can do?

Many trannies are adjustable in the older machines unless the clutch material on the transmission internals are completely gone out....

The bands themselves on older trannies were expected to have SOME amount of wear - so they were made adjustable.

If you have one like that, expect to find the adjuster inside the pan - LOOK IT UP before doing ANYTHING.

she's a 74 but has a motor/box from a 78 fairlane.

I've wound the modulator almost all the way in but it's just tired. It's no biggie though... Have a couple of FMXs and several C4's to chuck in if it stops giving me drive
