6.0 Oil Temp
Can anybody tell me what the normal operating oil temp is? I read somewhere on this forum that anything over 150 degrees is bad. My operating temp on a 85 degree day doing normal driving is about 185 degrees. I got that reading off my bully dog. Not sure how accurate it is. Before any comments come thundering down about the bully dog, I switched to the SCT Livewire today. Much better choice. Only question about the Livewire is....When I installed and took it for a test drive, at WOT, it seemed to hesitate a little. Not sure what that was. Almost like it wasnt getting enough air.

If your temp on ECT is that low, Your "T" stat may not be working properly, might think about changing it. Your ECT should be at 190 and up. The stock T-stat is designed to fail "open".
And "Bully" for you on changing to SCT! |

If you are talking Celsius that would be 194* to 204* with oil temp being with in 4* and if the 28* which would be about 82*, that all sounds good to me. :-jammin:-drink :-X25 |
