driveshaft?

i'm new to this site and i need a little help. I have a 75 F100 ranger 2 wheel drive well recently when i get up to 35-40 mph it starts to vibrate and runs a little rough. I've had it for about a year now and it's always run real good. did an oil change and tune up recently. I not sure if it's the wheel bearing or the driveshaft? any advice would help. thanks:-huh

For sure it is road speed related and not engine related?

Road speed:

Wheel weights
Driveshaft including u-joints
Bent wheel?

Engine Speed:

Balancer
Cracked flexplate/flywheel
Loose convertor if automatic

Auto or standard ?

If a two-piece driveshaft, there is a U shaped rubber center support, a center support sealed bearing.

When the bearing's grease dries out, and/or the rubber support disintigrates, the driveshaft vibrates.

Ford sells these parts along with the bracket and shims as a kit.

D9TZ-4800-A .. Driveshaft Center Support Kit / Available from Ford.

Applications: 1961/79 F100/250, some F350's.

MSRP: $96.83 // FTE sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price: $69.72.

To Mark: it's an auto. thanks for the tip numberdummy. And upon having to help my daughter move i noticed that the vibration happens at certain RPMs like right before 2nd and third gear, then at 40 when i accelerate

I would say the torque convertor or flexplate is to blame.

The vibration is there all the time, you just don't notice it until certain conditions occur.

Vibrations can be tough to diagnose. As Josh pointed out, there are all sorts of things that can cause it.
