Rarest dentside combo?

I'm going to pick-up my bday present tomorrow, 79' F150 ranger SWBSC (Short wheelbase supercab) I've only ever seen maybe 5 and all have been 2wd... as is this 1. All the ones I could aproach have also been 460/c6. Never seen 1 of these 4wd. I'm thinking of making 1 out of this 1. Did ford ever do this?????

Pics to com tomorrow!:-jammin

Misread your post, maybe someone will chime in with some info on the swb sc's.

I personally have seen very few 4wd shortbeds, and I have never seen a 4wd shortbed supercab. Sounds like it would be a cool idea; happy birthday by the way.

Funny you would say you have seen very few 4wd shortbead, that's all I can find here. I have been looking for a 2wd swb for 6 months and only found 2. Both junk.

I gotta think the rarest has to be some combo of the crew cab. I want to say crew cab long bed. I have only seen this combo one time. I cannot say if it was factory or not.

No, only made a supercab 4wd model in a longbed.

crewcab longbeds were only 2wd, all 4wd crews were shortbeds

Only way to get a crewcab was in Custom or Ranger XLT trim, no Lariat crews.

I have seen several of these supercab shortbeds. I think the rarest is the F250 version, as I have only seen one of them.

As far as I know the supercab shortbed was only available in 2wd. In the past, there have been a few guys who have converted them, and some pretty nice, but none of them came from the factory as 4wd, as far as I have been able to find out.

A kid I went to school with had a 78 or 79, 1/2 ton 4wd, supercab. Not hard to remember because it was painted like a cow. He junked the box due to rot and rust and installed a flat bed because he couldn't find a solid short bed for it. I see him around sometimes, maybe I'll ask him for a picture.
