how to test for bad injectors?

how can I test to see if my fuel injectors are bad or stuck open/closed? can a novice remove and replace FI on a 2004 F250? Thanks, |

There is no easy way to fully test bad cylinders, but good indication can be temperature measurements. I've been using infra-red thermometer and right now you can buy one for $9, while $25 buys one with laser pointer. When you spot cylinder more than 40F colder than the rest, you have a mis performing one. Usually I measure temperatures of exhaust manifold, since on newer engines the top of cylinder is not accessible.

have you checked your FICM voltage
I think that you can run a cylinder balance test with AE like OP mentioned have you scaned for codes If you had one thats stuck open it would be pouring smoke out the tailpipe nonstop and could burn a hole thru the top of the piston not good and there not to bad to change out if you have a little wrenching exp... |
