her instead.

Well time heals everything. It's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

That $18,000 is a shade over 3 times what I paid for this one. But let me remind you mine didnt have a bed on it, which is a good thing because Im not a big fan of the way the dually beds look. Its also an XL, no power seats or windows. These trucks up here seem to always have at least 150k on them. Glad i found one with a few less than that. :-X0A6

Leemakesmepee 08-30-2011 01:49 PM

Thats what is crazy about our trucks. Where i live in ohio a regular cab f250 or f350 with less then 200,000 miles is a 10 grand truck all day.
:-huh

Awitte58 08-30-2011 02:06 PM

^x2 in the midwest where Im at...the trucks will be rust buckets with 185k or so and still want like 8 or 9000 for em!

freedawg_101 08-30-2011 02:28 PM

Well the same thing applies up here I guess, 150k-200k no rust but kinda beat up, and they have probly sat and idled half the winter and people still want 7k-10k for a truck that blue books for 6-8k wierd. The saving thing for me was that the guy didnt have a bed on the truck and Im sure people walked away from it because of that alone. Another thing is he told me he only had 4 people other than me even look at it in the 7 months he had it for sale. Im glad the guy couldnt use the internet very well. (He didnt have it advertised very well).

Leemakesmepee 08-30-2011 04:20 PM

Yeah i got mine from texas just a couple months ago for under 3800 but had to put some money in to it to get it up to par. but still way cheaper then buying a truck in my neck of the woods.

Nice buy! Good choice... :-X04 I just got mine in April!

Got my 96 in June with 190K for 5K with the Warn winch and brush guard and an extra set of tires included. Very well maintained by the PO. It has been an absolutely great running truck and hasn't used a drop of oil in the 3K I've put on it.

Brown Falcon 08-30-2011 11:34 PM

Mine was a bit different when I bought it though... dually, 4.10 gears, blue stripe instead of red...

Should have held out for a 4x4 5spd truck, but I was impatient and tired of driving a VW Golf. Now I have enough money into repairs and mods that it would be stupid to sell and buy what I want, and I have most of the conversion parts I need for 4x4 now anyways.

96stroker84 08-31-2011 08:00 AM

271,000 and counting

GreaseMonky 08-31-2011 10:20 AM

my 97 has 239k, when i got it, it had 197k, and those miles where put on 10 months

my 94 has 180k, and had 171k, and that was 3 months

1994 F-350, ~147,000 miles, 5 speed

Buck Dharma Fan 09-17-2011 10:43 PM

My '97 F250 7.3 w/E4OD has 248,000, Got her last year with 235,000. These things are awesome. Yeah I had to fix a few things but nothing major. I don't care what the odometer says, she's still young at heart. I'll take it anywhere. I do worry about the E4OD though. No trouble yet.

f350rebel7788 09-17-2011 11:11 PM

143k, had it since 131k. 3k of what i put on it was from Cali to New Hampshire! sucks to come through Arizona in July with no A/C!!! haha

mesimpson66 09-20-2011 09:25 PM

My '97 has about 169,000 miles now and I've been driving the truck for 10 years. Nearly all the accessories and other small pain-in-the-butt stuff has failed over the years. Currently chasing an electrical problem because it quit running after I changed the fuel pump a week ago and now it doesn't fire up, even with strong batteries. Going to get knee deep in it this weekend! Bought it with 97,000 miles on it. Wife loans me her car when it died-- even she refuses to let me take it to a shop! I was raised in a DIY family...

Brown Falcon 09-20-2011 11:34 PM

Well, put 2,000 miles on mine in the past two weeks going down to Cali and back visiting the in-laws.

Just over 189k now...

strokin'_tatsch 09-21-2011 04:31 PM

Rolling up on 350k miles pretty soon. 345,281 right now.

cowmilker08 09-21-2011 06:29 PM

I will cross 262k miles about a 1/2 mile out of my driveway friday morning.

shellyh1971 09-21-2011 07:42 PM

Ive got a 96 crew cab dually with right at 335,000. Manual transmission. Everything is the way it came. I bought it with 99,998 on it....back in 05. I love my truck..

jtexfisher 09-22-2011 03:01 PM

248,000 here. At least one transmission based on the "rebuilt by ford" tag hanging from it. I got 19/21 mpg on the way home with the truck from Colorado to Texas. We had both the van and the truck on that trip. Left in the van, came home in a van and a pickup. :). It was kinda fun figuring the mileage on both, keeping track of how much the V10 cost to fuel vs the 7.3. (11/12 mpg vs 19/20mpg.) Easy to compare too seeing as we were driving the same route and filled up at the same time. ( I think my credit card cried that day). But that was before I found out how fun it is to drive. I haven't made a long unloaded trip since. Get 14/16 average unloaded with shorter trips, way less with the horse trailer in tow.

maverick1701 09-22-2011 03:54 PM

the first obs I had i sold it at 315K and the black obs truck I sold around 250K

sleepyhead416 09-22-2011 04:28 PM

My 2003 has 87,000 trouble free. A customers here has 340,000 has normal problems

grantpage 09-22-2011 05:03 PM

Mine had 237k(3 trans), ran great and was totaled in a wreck 2 months ago, I now drive an 04 f-350 srw 6.0l, and I really do miss the reliabilty of the 7.3l(despite the e4od).

ReFlectiveMan 09-22-2011 08:26 PM

231K Bought it last July with 201K, and it's sat for 3 months at various times waiting for me to have time to replace various parts. (Clutch/Front end work) The railroad takes up alot of my time...

zmanz1 09-23-2011 10:06 PM

260000 on my 97 E350

Hey Marcus, yeah, I think we all would like to say that. We have great old trucks that can live on & on if we know enough about 'em. This is a great place to learn & share info. These guys saved my ass and a lot of money. Looks like you're a newby like me. Welcome.

Marcus4.6 10-11-2011 01:38 AM

thanks and people on here helped me out with my '98 F-150 and i'm reading everyones post on here to learn the tricks to keep my first diesel on the road

561DAN 10-11-2011 07:49 AM

96 294k
Want this truck to be my last. As long as there are parts still being made for it, then I'm going to keep it.

96oldstroker 10-11-2011 08:49 AM

190,000 and counting. i bought it with 55,000 in 98. replaced the dripping water pump at 75k, the turbo at 180k, the rest is stock. oh the tranny went a while ago, cant remember the miles.

ARCTIC_RAGTOP 10-11-2011 10:50 AM

'96 F-250 Supercab Longbox 4x4 7.3 5-Speed, shows 338,000 km on the clock, bought it for $1500 with 333,000. Looks like hell but runs amazing. From what I've read the Odometers in these things turn back to 300,000 when they roll over 399,999 so it could have 538,000 for all I know! Canadian so it is km by the way. These 7.3's are unreal!

gsilvaSHO 10-30-2011 06:50 PM

One of my customers has over 400K on his 7.3.

dennis11 11-03-2011 01:49 AM

How many miles on my 7.3

1997 PS extended cab 385,000
1995 PS regular cab 212,000

I don't have a picture and I wouldn't know how to post it anyway.
Why do you need a picture?

79OldBone 11-03-2011 12:09 PM

Cause it looks like from whats been said MOST odometers roll back to 300,000 after 399,999 and wont actually say 4XXXXX.

94diF350 11-03-2011 01:00 PM

288380 as of right now

GarageSpec 11-03-2011 01:25 PM
