Body lift?
I picked up a 92 F250 4x4 recently and would like to add allitle more lift, nothing crazy though. I believe the truck is already had a slight suspension lift but not sure how much or what kind. It's got bigger tires on it already.
I'd like to go with a 4" tough country suspension lift and although a nice price I still can't shell out the 500 + for the lift. A friend of mine suggested a 2-3" body lift ontop of the lift it already has. My question is who makes a quality body lift and how much should i go? Anyone have pics of body lifts that may help me out? I just hate the look of a big body lift with huge gaps for the bumpers. Thanks! ps I'll go take a pic if the truck and post it. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...ummer11002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30...ummer11003.jpg |
That appears to be of factory height. I'd go against the body lift, as it would create more problems than you want.
However, I have a 3" lift I'd be willing to sell, and deliver, if you're anywhere near Dayton. |
Stay away from body lifts. Get a suspension lift.

I'm not sure I'd want a lift on that truck, unless it was for show only. The distance between the axles lends to major frame flex, which would allow it to bend in the middle. I had a '91 when it was new, and traded it in after 2 years because I was tired of the bounce it gave. Mine looked like yours, extended cab with long bed.
I traded it in on a '91 regular cab, long bed of the same color and options...and never turned back. |

It was never installed.
Again, I'd advise against this, unless it's mainly a hard surface truck. I would advise against taking it off road, especially with a body lift on. It's this kit... http://www.ultimateautoaccessories.c...A/PROD/BLK/763 |

I agree it looks like the factory height, maybe leveled in the front. Here's mine: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ictureid=29129 |

I'd be willing to meet you there, at the Shell station by I-70, near Competition Accesories, at the intersection of W Leffels and S Limestong, NEXT weekend when I roll through on my way to Dayton.

Sounds good, not this weekend but the following correct?
Now, I get to go to the basement and find which box it's packed away in...I have things in the basement I haven't seen since I packed to move here last year. LOL I'll keep you posted... |
That's a nice truck. Don't ruin it with a body lift.
|
I'm not totally sure i'm going with a body lift just exploring my options. I'd really like to put a 4" tough country suspension lift on it.
