strong fuel smell
Ok guys need help again. Everyone's been greta help and my '94 f250 5.8 lt is running great. However, i notice when I start it after sitting at least an hour a strong gas smell from the exaust. Could it be fuel regulator? Checked vacuum line at different intervals, 5 10 15 and 20 mins on different days and no fuel coming out of vacuum line. I'm up to 10.5 to 11.2 mpg in town. Replaced with new oem coil. Thinking about doing 6 liter tune up

Check fue pressure, pull the codes, and most importantly check for the fuel transfer problem between tanks, because if you have that problem fuel will potentially overflow the tank not being used and that will both impact fuel milage and create a raw fuel smell.

I only smell it on start up at the exaust and there's no codes. I'll see if i can rent pressure tester.

When you get a pressure gauge you want to see that the fuel system builds 40-45psi with a few cycles of the pump(engine not started), and that it holds this pressure. If pressure bleeds off immediately that potentially indicates an injector stuck open though it could also be a result of a stuck/broken check valve in one of the fuel tank delivery modules. To check for a stuck injector simply pull the plugs and look for the one that is wet with fuel.

now that u mention it the front tank is off by a quarter tank. Hits 1/4 and is bone dry. Maybe the sending unit is bad. But it does it on both tanks(the fuel in exuast smell)

Pulled plugs and #1 little wet and smells like gas but others don't. If stuck open do you think injector cleaning at a shop would unstick it? Don't really wanna replace injector if i don't have to. Cause i go through trouble i'd replace all of em
