Please Help (New ford truck owner)
Ok so i have just recently purchased a 1963 F 100 unibody. The truck originally was a 3 on the tree but the previous owner switched it to on the floor. Does anyone know what linkage i need because they just kind of threw something together.. It is the stock 3-speed Man.Trans. Any Other information about the truck will be greatly appreciated!

I had the same issue. I took out the floor shifter and reinstalled the column shift. I was able to pull the shift linkage off of a donor that was a 64 f100 (non-unibody). If I remember correctly, the shift linkage from 61-64 will work. 65 and 66 will not. I will measure the two rods tomorrow and post a reply. P.S. this site has a user named "Number Dummy" that can give you the actual parts numbers for these.

Applications: 1961/64 F100/250 2WD 3 speed M/T / 1961/64 F100 3 speed M/T with Overdrive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C1TT-7328-F .. 1st/Reverse Shift Rod / Obsolete Applications: 1961/63 F100/250 3 speed M/T / 1961/64 F100 3 speed M/T with Overdrive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the bottom of the steering column under the hood are the two manual control selector levers that these shift rods attach to. See if these parts are still present. If not, you will need the two levers, misc attaching parts, the two bushings and insulators. The usual reasons why peeps convert to a floor shifter: 1) The shift lever's pot metal shift collar that attaches to the shift tube breaks apart internally, causing the shift lever to flop around. And/or... 2) The two bushings/insulators that fit into the selector arms age crack, then fall apart, causing the shift lever to bind up. Peeps are clueless where to get these parts (obsolete, but all can be found NOS), so they install a floor shifter instead. |

Another thing..I have no breaks so I am rebuilding the master cylinder with a rebuild kit, also replacing all four wheel cylinders and brake lines..Any other suggestions?

It your choice but you might want to think about upgrading to discs in front and going to a boosted master cylinder. It all depends on what you want to do with the truck, restore to original, or modify to your liking.

Im more into the 50's rat rod look lol I want to eventually slam it on airbags keep the motor and trans original.
