94 Ranger 2.3L - Timing off or bad Crank Sensor?

Hi all,

I replaced the timing belt a year or so ago. Since then it hasnt run great, but nothing like now.

It won stay running when cold. You have to hold the gas until it gets warm and even thenm it idles erratically and you can hear slight misfires in the intake.

Found no spark on cylinders 2 & 3 on exhaust side. Swapped coil, same issue. So I got a ICM from the junkyard and while replacing it I found out that on the wire harness from the Crank Sensor, it has the main connector and then a single wire Ground Connector for the shielding. Well that ground connector was disconnected (broken)

I fixed that and replaced the ICM. Now getting spark on those 2 cylinders, but didnt really change much. I have also replaced the IAC valve and coolant sensor.

I decided to test the timing. I disconnected the SPOUT (I think, it was a single connector with 2 pink wires with a plastic plug in it) and used a timing light and it was showing 15, with Spout In it was @ 20, that isnt right is it?

Could timing be off a tooth or 2 or bad crank sensor?

Any help is appreciated
