Camping in and around Alberta - where do you go?
I was out at Boulton Creek in Kananaskis Country at the beginning of June. and I'm headed out to Livingstone Falls West of Longview on the Forestry Trunk Road in Mid-July.
In past years I've spent quite a bit of time out near Canal Flats BC, some wonderful free camping out on the forestry roads around there. Where do you go? |
Fairmont hot springs on May long.
July long we're off to Crimson Lake by Rocky Mountain House. With small kids it's tough to get too adventurous! Lol JC |
Crimson Lake turned out pretty good. Nice campground and very nice beach for Alberta.

As I posted in the "slow posting" thread. We were at the Coburn Community Hall. Coburn Hall - Google Maps
It's a former one room schoolhouse from back around the turn of the century. It lay alongside the original C&E trail wagon route that first linked Calgary and Edmonton by land. It's not much, just a small building, a couple trees and a big lawn, but it's perfect for summer gatherings. \ Good spot for the kid to run around. |
We end up all over.

There are some great spots long the trunk road. Nice little trailer, must be a pretty easy load to tow with your truck.
|
Wanted to go to Hummingbird Creek but wasn't sure of the conditions farther south after the floods i June and July, amd yes the trailer pulls quite easy,no problems on the hills or if I hafta pass someone.
