Factory Highboy Lift

ok I know the factory lift for 73-77.5 F250 Highboys is 4". I think I read somewhere that it was only 3" for the 67-72s. Someone I know thinks it was 4". Anyone know for sure?

Not sure of the height difference, but I do know on either you can run 38s easily with 2" of lift. I have a 68 highboy and the fenders are begging for crazy tires

What are some of the manufacturers that make lift kits for the 67-72?

So, does anyone think this Skyjacker 4" "Highboy" kit will return my sagging '71 to factory height or really put it in the clouds?

I was always under the impression that the front lift would just come from add a leafs so you could keep the factory lift. Are the rear springs with that kit intended to replace the factory blocks? So basically that kit is replacement springs for the stock suspension? Looks like I would need custom springs for the amount of lift I want. The truck in question is a 72 F250.

Guys
the Skyjacker lift is intended to add an additional 4in to the stock highboy height to make a total of 8in by repacing all the springs front and rear.Supposdly with a smoother ride.

All,

I just put a 2 inch Skyjacker "softride" lift on my 70 Highboy F250(actually a 74 frame) and yes it does raise the truck 2 inches over stock(6 inches total). And the 4 inch kit will give you 8 inches total.

I'll let you know how the ride is as soon as I get the driveshafts and brakes straight (I switched to a 1976 Dana 44 with Disc brakes) I hope soon.

Highboy 70, kind of getting particular but was wondering if I could get some measurments form you? I've been considering the 2" system myself. I would like to know the distance from the center of your locking hub on the front to the top of the fender opening and from the rear axle center to the top of the fender. This will help me in my decision, thanks alot. Doug

460 crew and highboy70, thanks thats the answer i was hoping for. my experience with skyjacker lift springs in the past is that they do ride well. im not big on superlift since the front springs tend to sag under the weight of a big block, heard the new ones they have out are a lot better though. I heard that Skyjacker makes a 6" for highboys too.

I like Comertrucks measurement idea. I sure could use some baselines. Here's how my sagging truck measures (w/360):

Driver: Front: 22 1/8" Rear: 21 1/2"

Pass: Front: 22 7/8 Rear: 22

I'd also like to see some measurements from anyone with fresh factory springs as that may be all the lift I want. Thanks!

Highboy 70, when you provide your data, be sure to also provide your tire size as this will impact the measurement some. Also, I would love to see some pics if you could post them.

Finally, if you don't mind my asking, how much is the kit? I have not been able to find anyone that sells them on the web. I could ask a local dealer, but I am nowhere near ready. I am just in the planning stages.

Comet,

The kit(which included both front and rear springs, U-bolts,Blocks for rear, and bushings) was 1239.00 for me up here, but I live in Fairbanks AK. Shipping on heavy items always gets you.
Of course I had to buy, new spring bolts, steel crimp nuts for the U-bolts(Don't use the nylon insert ones that come in the kit,you won't be happy with them), also new shocks, front brake lines, and I'm relocating the rear brake line mount 3 inches(this will drop it down sufficiently to allow for movement) and still allow me to use the factory line-saving me $60.

As to the measurements I'd be glad to give them to you as soon as I get the fenders back on. I pulled the bed and front clip before starting this project in order to replace my cab mounts and clean up the whole cab.

I'm slowly getting the whole thing back together,
Soon I hope.
