Wiper fluid wont pump?
 

Alright, first post on this forum! So far ive found all i need from others, but here we go. The wipers and everytrhing work, but when i push the wiper button for the washer fluid, it wont pump. I checked to see it was full, and the line is attatched. I felt along the line, and didnt feel anything in it that would block it off. Does anyone know how it pumps, or what it uses to pump, as well as what else to check.

There should be a pump that pumps the fluid from the tank to the nozzles. I can't remember where the pump is, if its on the tank, or separate, but if you look at the tank and follow the lines from the nozzles you can figure it out.

Once you do, pull of the electrical connection and see if its corroded. If you have a voltmeter or test light, have someone hold down the washer fluid button and see if you get voltage at the connection. If you get voltage, but no fluid, might have to replace the pump.

Last thought, these aren't like newer vehicles where you hit the button, it sprays for a couple seconds and the wipers do a few cycles. You may have to hold the button down for a few seconds before anything comes out, and turn the wipers on manually.

Thats what i thought, but there is no pump along the line anywhere. The ruber tube goes directly from the washer fluid box to the little knob where the fluid sprays on the windhseild.

if i remember correctly, the pump in in the bottom of the fluid reservoir.

Yea its in the bottom of the tank. Check the bottom of the tank where the hose runs from, there should be wires coming out of the pump. Pull the wiring connector off and there will be a thin spingy steel ring with little tabs all around it. Pop the ring out with a pick or pliers (you'll probably damage it, but a new one comes with the new 20$ washer pump) and the pump pulls out the end.

Before pulling out the pump, you might want to check voltage in that connector while trying to spray to make sure it is the pump. That little tab ring never goes back in as well as it does the first time, so replace it if you pull the pump.

I had a simular problem a few weeks ago. The pump just stopped pumping. Yes the pump is in the bottom of the ww fluid tank literally. I removed my pump, can't remember how but it wasn't hard to do. I plugged it in and nothing. I started moving the pump mechinism till it was free moving. I reinstalled it and have had no problem since then.
