EXPERIMENT; COMMUNICATION WITH ANIMALS

Some of us have pets, so this gets deep!

Here is the basic: "CAN WE COMMUNICATE WITH ANIMALS?"
(life forms we don't think are intelligent)

Uhh.....

When I stand back and look at this I know inside that there is a storm coming.

Your dog knows you.
Your cat knows you.
Do you know them?

I think that a lot of people will get behind me in a line if I say that after a while you establish a dialog with any pet, and something like communication takes place at all times in it...

~Door opens~

Mutt is already all over the action, tail waggin'...

"WHAT?"

"WRUFF! WOOF!"

"Liked that stuff, yeah? Good Scoobies???"

"Hroof, WUFF!"

"Yeah, I think that was a definite..."

Squats down and rubs Rufuss absentmindedly while Roofies tail whops hell out of his back...
*Labs and Pits, oh yeah! Their tails can send a beer across a room!

And that is normal...

NOW:

If we include those who make a profession out of CANINE/HUMAN interaction -

That opens up a whole lot of stuff, doesn't it?

Can we even name what we can think of in a list?

PURPOSE DIRECTED CANINES

What commands can they perform?

*LRRP Units used K9 units in Vietnam

EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal)

SAR (Search and Recovery) *including remains

Trained Trackers (such as bloodhounds)

HUNTING DOGS!!!

I guarantee that at some point somebody will claim that "Hell yes, dogs are intelligent"

Romeo just came in and communicated to me that he wanted to go outside right away!

So I jumped up and followed him out the front door but it was raining. So I ducked back in for my hat and a flashlight. I hustle out toward the street about the time that he jumps a little coyote. I hit them with the light and Romeo lets the critter go and it hightails it off through the brush.

So it may not be highly refined but it is communication!

My Black Lab communicated to me through odor signals that he needed to go out and drop a small tactical nuke on the back lawn.
