Welcome come one (well hopefully not one), come all to the brand spanking shiny new Unibody Sub-Forum. I can only hope that we Uni guys and gals (integral) for the ND, will post up and enjoy the information that all of us will contribute.

I have a 1962 F100 Uni, it aint pretty but it's mine. I got it for free from a guy while serving Jury Duty. He wanted it gone I asked him what it was and took it. The main reason, it's as old as I am, next year 50 years old, wow. Go to my profile for some pictures of what she looks like. The bed is a little rotten in the front, which most likely means the torque box has holes in it too.

Ok the First question: Does anyone have information on the door popping open when overloaded problem? I'm not talking rumor I would like to see documented proof from DOT or Ford.

So here is an interesting factoid, in 1961 they produced 62,410 unibody trucks, in 1963 they produced 40,535 F100's, and 5,456 F250's. Now lets say at a minumum Ford produced 50,000 unibody trucks in 1962, that would mean that there should be around 158,401 unibody trucks out there. They must have crushed a lot of trucks over the years because my figures show way less than that. So when they post up on Ebay Rare Unibody truck are they right? hmmm.

1961: 62,410 F100's / 10,008 F250's.

1962: 68,983 F100's / 10,703 F250's.

1963: 40,535 F100's / 5,456 F250's.

Total 1961/63: 197,895. The survival rate for trucks of this vintage is 5%.

So we're talking about 9895 trucks, ouch not many, roughly 3300 vehicles per year.

ok guys and gals, im new to this whole forum thing, so i hope i dont mess it up, lol, but i recently bought a 61 f100 unibody, no motor, no tranny. trucks not in horrible shape, beyond the usual rust issues, and a few rough spots dent-wise in the body, all that i can fix pretty easy, heres a fat kids issue! i have a 460, and a c-6 that are on FIRE wantin and waitin to go in this truck, BUT, i want to put this body on a newer ford frame(im keepin MY ford ALL ford!) be nice to know where to start, here. the wife would love to be able to drive this beauty when shes done, lol so its gonna hafta have power steering and power brakes, this truck will NOT be a trailer queen! ifn she gets shown, she gonna DRIVE to the show!!!!! thanks in advance for any info/advice ya'll can give!!!!

Welcome to the FTE and the Uni Sub Forum. If you look through some of the posts you will most likely find what your looking for, give the search bar a try. The mounts will have to be modified because the front mount for the 292 V-8 was at center below the front pulley. The back mounts were off of the flywheel bell housing. If you have questions ask away, enjoy.

Speaking of not many have a look around on the net and see how many 61 Mercury M100 Shortbox unibody trucks you can find! I have been able to only find a couple,one of which is mine:-X21

Do you have the big back window as well?

Small window and I have found the second owner of thew Merc who has been a friend of our family as long as I can remember talked to him about the Mercury the day before yesterday ,he wants to come and have a look at it for chitts and giggles:-X0A6

Have him bring old photos of the truck so you can copy them for your files.

How rare is the big back window? Has anybody seen production figures on it? I have only ever seen 2, so I figured they are pretty rare. I was able to buy the top of one, complete with glass and moldings, so it's here. I don't have a use for it, but I just had to get it!
