87 F350 Oil Pressure Sender location
I need to install a mechanical oil pressure guage to see if my oil pressure to low rpm's is as low as the stock guage says it is. I did a lot of searching and google, but can not find where the sending unit is. I have the big block, I think it is a 7.5l 460ci. Does that sound right?
Can someone point me to where it is, any special tool I will need and lastly, what it looks like. Never done anything like this before, but I am afraid to drive it all the way to town (50 miles through the Idaho mountains) with the low pressure reading on the stock guage. Thanks all. |
On my '95 460, the oil pressure sending unit is on the top of the block, way in the back, behind the intake manifold.

I believe your truck already has a real oil pressure gauge. If it has the bigger sending unit on an extension then you have an actual gauge.
