87 F350 Oil Pressure Sender location

I need to install a mechanical oil pressure guage to see if my oil pressure to low rpm's is as low as the stock guage says it is. I did a lot of searching and google, but can not find where the sending unit is. I have the big block, I think it is a 7.5l 460ci. Does that sound right?

Can someone point me to where it is, any special tool I will need and lastly, what it looks like. Never done anything like this before, but I am afraid to drive it all the way to town (50 miles through the Idaho mountains) with the low pressure reading on the stock guage.

Thanks all.

On my '95 460, the oil pressure sending unit is on the top of the block, way in the back, behind the intake manifold.

What does it look like and will I be able to reach it from the top? Should I remove the air filter housing to do it? Thanks for the help.

I believe your truck already has a real oil pressure gauge. If it has the bigger sending unit on an extension then you have an actual gauge.
