He's talking about swapping in a solid 4x4 axle for his twin traction beam axle John.

Rusty, there are a few guys around here that have done that swap. You might want to try your question on the suspension and axles forum. I know there is a guy that lives in Chapel Hill doing that swap but I can't remember his name right off.

Hey Rusty-

Like Hotwhlz85 said, there was a lot of discussion about that swap. You might want to do a search or just look around the differential and axle section.

Where are you located and what's the truck you are considering the upgrade for?

I've been thinking of dropping a solid axle in my '84 Bronco. I love my Fords, but I think the TTB design sucks big time.
